Florence
This beautiful renaissance city may not be as big as other
famous cities in the world but it has so much to offer
in terms of art, history, beauty and culture as the
centro storico has more artistic treasures per square
metre than any other city in the world.
Some of the major attractions in the city include the
Duomo (cathedral) and its surroundings, Piazza della
Signoria with the beautiful Palazzo Vecchio and the
Neptune Fountain, the Uffizi Gallery with its beautiful
art collection, the Santa Maria Novella area with its
ancient churches and station, Santa Croce and Oltrano.
There are many famous restaurants and bars in the city
and many of them are situated in the piazzas or squares
that dot the city. There are many up market stores and
the major fashion houses have their signature stores
in the city.
Florence is the birthplace of many famous Italians
who have made their mark in history and contributed
much both for their country and for the glory of the
