Loro Ciuffenna
Loro Ciuffenna is a charming town situated on the slope of the Pratomagno Mountain not too far from Florence. The first part of its name Loro is derived from the mountain Laurel found in the area and Cuiffenna after the abundance of deer predominating this area. It is a medieval town retaining some of its architectural glory. It has an ancient church La Gropina whose bell tower dates to the early twelve hundreds. It is predominately an agricultural town with grapes and olives being its current major crops. Earlier on irises, which were used to make perfume, were the major agricultural output of this town. It had become an area for bicycle enthusiasts with races and cycle tours being held on most weekends.
