Chianti
The very word Chianti evokes an image of vast valleys and
undulating hills filled with emerald green vineyards
bearing lush grapes. It is the area in Tuscany, which
is between Florence and Siena. It is filled with vineyards,
olive groves and woods filled with chestnuts and oaks.
It is renowned for the Chianti Classico wine especially
produced in this region.
But there is much more to this region than the Chianti
wines and olive oil. There are many quaint and picturesque
villages and towns offering the tourist a charming holiday.
San Casciano Val di Pesa is a quiet town with Etruscan
origins. It is situated in the Chianti Classico Region.
The church of Santa Maria del Prato is an artist’s
delight.
Panzano offers a panoramic of the entire Chianti region
as well as ancient Roman past. It is famous for the
Panzano castle, the church of Santa Maria and Fiorentina
steaks.
