Florence Countryside
The countryside surrounding Florence is dominated by
the Florentine hills. The entire region consists of
many picturesque typically Tuscan towns and villages
each one offering its unique perspective on Tuscany.
Montespertoli is both a medieval and renaissance town,
which is famous for its vineyards and olive groves.
It has beautiful churches like the churches of San Michele,
San Lorenzo and Saint Andrea.
Montelupo, the center of ceramics has a medieval past
and many places worth a visit like the Archaeological
Museum, the Medici Villa and the priory of San Lorenzo.
Greve in Chianti has a famous and ancient but still
thriving marketplace and unusual triangular piazza (square).
It also has a famous Museum of Scared Art and the church
of San Croce.
Panzano in Chianti is an ancient roman settlement where
parts of the Panzano Castle with its semi rectangular
walls and the parish church of Santa Maria are the major
tourist attractions.
