Certaldo
Although Certaldo dates back to the Etruscan-Roman
era it is a town where one can see traces of the Italian
Renaissance. It can be divided into two major areas:
the Castello or the ancient village, which is inside
the well preserved city walls and the Rivellino or outpost
with its fortified walls forming a formidable defense
for the village. The grand and imposing Palazzo Pretorio
is the most significant renaissance edifice in the village.
This village also has a lot of natural and geological
importance. The River Park has been created for the
people to benefit from the pristine surroundings. The
Hill Park has been opened for people to enjoy picnics
and excursions in the wonderful and naturally beautiful
wooded area.
