Montaione
This town offers one of the most panoramic views of Tuscany. It is situated on a hill between the Valleys of Egola and Elsa rivers. It has its origins in the Etruscan and Roman settlements. The Civic Museum of Montaione has archeological finds of minerals, fossils etc from the area. It also has prehistoric exhibits from other parts of the world including Libya and Egypt. It is very close to the Chianti vineyards and olive groves. It is possible to buy direct produce from the farmers during the festivals held in the historical center of Montaine in summer and winter. The ancient church of San Bagio belongs to the Paleo -Christian Age is five hundred metres away from the village.
