Pratolino
Pratolino lies on a hill very close to Florence. It was bought over by Francesco I of the Medici family for his personal reasons. There is a beautiful and ancient Medici Villa. It is now called Villa Demidoff and has been converted into a hotel. It lies among sylvan surroundings in the Demidoff Park. The park was built as per the orders of Francesco I. son of Duke Cosimo I. It has the magnificent statue of the God Apennine by Giambologna a chapel a grotto and other smaller statues. There is a well-preserved and maintained fifteenth century church, the church of San Cresci a Macioii just outside the village.
