Capannori
Capannori stands at a height of fifteen metres above sea
level along the plain of Lucca. In 745 a monk went to
Capannori and built a church dedicated to Saint Quirico.
Soon people gathered around and began to build their
houses around the church and the village was born. The
Town Hall is located in Piazza Aldo Moro. Other places
worth a visit include the Cenami Mansi Villa, the Marlia
Royal Villa, the Santini Torrigiani Villa and the Agricultural
Museum of the Plain of Lucca. Every September there
is a Fair held in Capannori, which is an excellent time
to savour and sample the local food.
