Lanciole
Lanciole is a small village on a hill between Lucca
and Pistoia. The hills are filled with chestnut trees.
There is an ancient church of roman origins, which now
had adopted a baroque façade. Although many edifices
are in ruins there is a guard tower intact, which has
been converted into a bell tower. The castle of Lanciole
was built in 1382. Lanciole is one among the ten fortress
villages or Castelli. They are also known as Svizzera
Pesciatina or Switzerland above Pescia
since they are very beautiful and a wonderful haven
for nature lovers. Although it's a small village it
is very beautiful. There is only one bar, which holds
dances and musicals for entertainment.
