Orentano
This small Tuscan village embodies all the characteristics
of the Tuscan countryside. Orentano has an archaeological
museum, which showcases the Etruscan remains of the
village and its surrounding areas. The children's carnival
is held in February. There is a dress parade, a parade
of floats and other cultural activities including drawing
and painting competitions for children. In July the
traditional pizza and beer sagra is held where one gets
to sample wood oven cooked pizzas and other Tuscan dishes
including bruschetta and a live orchestra. In August
the Choux Festival is held in honour of their Patron
Saint San Lorenzo. The festival is dedicated exclusively
to cakes and cream puffs (Bigne) and definitely sweetens
the mood of both the tourists and the residents.
