Monteroni d Arbia
Monteroni d Arbia is an ancient village in the republic
of Siena and has preserved itself to a great extent.
It is agriculture based defined by the undulating clay
hills of Siena. It is becoming famous for breeding the
prized Chianina cows. Perhaps the most important monument
in the village is its medieval fourteenth century fortified
mill, whose original structure including the brick keep
and mill- pond is in almost perfect condition. The massive
structure of the Cuna farm rises majestically from the
Siena road. It is an excellent example of a twelfth
century medieval fortified grain tower. The village
of Lucignano d Arbia a fortified village with gates
and keeps is close by. The twelfth century parish church
dedicated to John the Baptist has beautiful artifacts.
