in 1938 by Anacleto Nistri, Fiori Dino
has become an important point of refrence
in the city of Florence. Nistri started
of selling plants and fresh flowers. In
1946 Dino joined the business and he later
went on to become the owner of the shop.
Dino was passionate about work, a passion
he passed on to his four children.

GELATERIA
The
origin of the shop goes back to 1921 when
Faustino Baroncini started selling milk.
The Baroncini family later bought their
own farm in the Serpiolle area and opened
a shop on Via Celso in 1946 to selling
milk, ice cream and whipped cream, all
made in the farm. »

Established
in 1935 the Roggi jewelry store keeps
alive the tradition of excellence that
has made Florence famous around the world.
The shop has been in the hands of the
same family and four generations have
maintained the old skills to date. They

and merchants under a dual aegis of tradition

In
the early 1940s, the architects that projected
the cemetery loggia in Trespiano also
built the commercial funds Via Bolognese.
It was meant to host the sale of flowers
and plants. From that time on Ermellina
Balloni and Mario Cioni started selling
flowers, plants and accessories. Valerio
Bambi, the tenant of Ermellina 's nephew
still runs the same activity he's been
running for 60 years. »

CASTALDINI
The
confectioner's shop was opened in 1928.
After being in business for about 30 years
the management passed over to Enzo Castaldini
in 1956. Under Pietro Robiglio's guide
he created new types of cakes and invented
a special leaven used even today, particularly
for making handicraft-panettoni and dove-shaped
Easter cakes.

CROCIANI
The
Crociani pastry shop started in 1940 by
Maria Crociani. She started by selling
ice-cream and bomboloni. Her sons Nello
and Maria Pia Generini took over after
her death, changing the shop into a pastry
and ice cream parlour. Since modernization
in 1963, Nello Generini's family manages
the firm which became famous for its production
of pastries and ice creams. »

LEGATORIA BROGI
Fortunato
Brogi created the Brogi Printing Office
and Bookbinder's in 1920. Notebooks, books,
folders were hand-sewn by women, and transformed
into precious objects. The preparation
and composition of lead fused characters,
as well as the finishing print with cameras,
was carried out in the artisan master's
style. »

DA BURDE
"Burdèl"
was the nick name of people, originally
all from Romagna, selling pigs. One of
them, called Barducci, started a wine-shop
in 1901, called "Da Burde" and which was
then in Via di Peretola. The final move
to the present Via Pistoiese took place
in 1927. »

DAMASCO
The
restaurant, situated in a 19th century
building near the old bridge on the Mugnone
stream, began its activity before 1940,
selling foodstuffs and wines. The restaurant,
lead by Giuseppe Moschini, worked through
World War II amidst the bombing which
destroyed many surroundings buildings.
